The Flat Stanley Project

Cette année, nous souhaitons donner la possibilité aux enfants en niveaux intermédiaires à avancés de découvrir de manière plus concrète l’ampleur du monde anglophone.
Le projet éducatif consiste à ce que les enfants reçoivent des cartes postales du monde entier rédigées dans un anglais simple.

You have received this letter because you either know a child who is a student with the School Around the Corner in France or one of your friends knows him. We have launched a school project to help the children realize the extent of the english-speaking world. 

The project is based on the fictional character Flat Stanley, who gets flattened in his sleep, and who, thanks to this misadventure, can travel to all types of places in the world in a simple enveloppe.  

Your part in the project 

1. Buy a postcard from the place where you live

2. Write in very simple english (the child may only know some 500 words) about the place where you live and the weather there and, if you know the child directly, about what you are doing.

3. Send the postcard to:

4. Send the letter you have received to an anglophone friend of yours somewhere in the world.

5. Phone him if possible to let him know about the letter so as to increase the chances of him responding quickly

The target is for each child to receive 8 postcards. Please note the project ends 30th April 2010.

Il reste 2 places pour les enfants (8/12 ans)en mandarin à Caen.
